About Steve Medlin

The Homegrown Lawyer

"I grew up walking these streets and learned to appreciate and love the community. I don't believe in cookie cutter approaches to the law."

Steve Medlin has called Concord home his entire life. He attended Mt. Pleasant High School, earned his undergraduate degree in history at UNC Charlotte, and completed his law degree at UNC Chapel Hill — then came straight back to serve the community he loves.

Since joining Medlin & Medlin, PA in 1977, Steve has built a practice rooted in personal relationships, local knowledge, and a simple philosophy: resolve issues outside the courtroom and save your clients money. He returns every call. He listens to every client.

Community & Character

Walking the Streets of Concord

Steve Medlin is more than a lawyer — he's a community champion, a Concord historian, and a proud walking man who knows every corner of this historic city.

"In this life, 'ya gotta keep moving'… I, too, plan to be productive and practice law my entire life."

Concord boasts 197 buildings and homes listed on the National Historic Registry — from the Daniel Branson Coltrane House (1883) and the James William Cannon House (1885) to the old carriage steps and hitching rings still visible on Main Street. Steve Medlin knows them all.

Whether advocating for downtown preservation, championing school bond issues, securing water rights for Cabarrus County, or supporting blindness prevention through Lions Club, Steve has spent four decades being the community's voice in the rooms that matter.
